Unemployment increased in the areas of all ELY Centres

Compared to the same period in the previous year, the number of unemployed jobseekers increased in September in the areas of all Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres); the most in Uusimaa (62%), Ostrobothnia (49%), Southwest Finland (44%) and Pirkanmaa (40%). The number of unemployed jobseekers increased the least in Kainuu (1%), South Savo (17%), North Karelia (18%), Southeast Finland (20%) and Central Finland (20%). In the Åland Islands, the number of unemployed jobseekers increased by 177 per cent. Compared to August, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in the areas of all Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres); the most in South Ostrobothnia (-7%) and Ostrobothnia (-7%).
