Unemployment increased in the areas of all ELY Centres

Compared to the same period in the previous year, the number of unemployed jobseekers increased in February in the areas of all Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres); the most in Uusimaa (58 %), Southwest Finland (33 %), Lapland (30 %) and Ostrobothnia (28 %). The number of unemployed jobseekers increased the least in Kainuu (8 %), South Savo (9 %), North Karelia (11 %) and Southeast Finland (13 %). In the Åland Islands, the number of unemployed jobseekers increased by 147 per cent. Compared with January, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in the areas of all ELY Centres; the most in North Savo (-4 %) and Southeast Finland (-4 %).
