Unemployment decreased in the areas of all ELY Centres

Compared to the same period in the previous year, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased by more than 20% in the areas of all Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres) in April; the most in South Ostrobothnia (-41%), Ostrobothnia (-37%) and Southwest Finland (-32%). The number of unemployed jobseekers decreased the least in Uusimaa (-21%), Central Finland (-22%) and Häme (-22%). In Åland, the number of unemployed jobseekers fell by 39%. Compared to March, the number of unemployed jobseekers also decreased in the areas of all ELY Centres; the most in South Ostrobothnia (-8%), Southeast Finland (-8%), South Savo (-7%) and Satakunta (-7%). The decrease from March was the greatest in Åland, -20%.
