Unemployment decreased in the areas of all ELY Centres

Compared to the same period in the previous year, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in December in the areas of all Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres); the most in Ostrobothnia (-37%), South Ostrobothnia (-29%), Pirkanmaa (-28%), Southwest Finland (-27%) and Satakunta (-26%). The number of unemployed jobseekers decreased the least in Kainuu (-13%), Central Finland (-18%), North Karelia (-18%), Häme (-19%) and South Savo (-19%). The number of unemployed jobseekers fell the most in Åland, by 43%. Compared to November, the number of unemployed jobseekers increased in the areas of all ELY Centres; the most in South Ostrobothnia (20%), Ostrobothnia (14%), Kainuu (13%), Central Finland (13%) and Southeast Finland (13%). The number of unemployed jobseekers increased the least in Uusimaa (5%).
