Unemployment decreased in the areas of all ELY Centres

Compared to the same period in the previous year, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in March in the areas of all Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres); the most in Pirkanmaa (-28%), Ostrobothnia (-28%), Uusimaa (-28%) and Lapland (-27%). The number of unemployed jobseekers decreased the least in Kainuu (-16%), North Karelia (-16%), South Savo (-18%), Central Finland (-18%) and North Savo (-19%). The number of unemployed jobseekers fell the most in Åland, by 46%. Also compared to February, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in the areas of all ELY Centres; the most in Ostrobothnia (-9%) and Pirkanmaa (-7%). Unemployment decreased the least from the previous month in Kainuu (-3%), North Karelia (-3%) and South Savo (-3%). In Åland, the number of unemployed jobseekers fell by 9% from February.
