Unemployment decreased in the areas of all ELY Centres

Compared to the same period in the previous year, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in August in the areas of all Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres); the most in Uusimaa (-20%), Pirkanmaa (-17%), Häme (-14%), Ostrobothnia (-14%) and Kainuu (-14%). The number of unemployed jobseekers decreased the least in South Savo (-8%), North Karelia (-8%) and South Ostrobothnia (-8%). The number of unemployed jobseekers fell the most in Åland, by 31%. Compared to July, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in the areas of all ELY Centres; the most in Ostrobothnia (-21%), North Ostrobothnia (-17%), Central Finland (-14%), South Ostrobothnia (-14 %) and Pirkanmaa (-14%). In Åland, the number of unemployed jobseekers fell by 4% from July.
