Unemployment decreased in the areas of all ELY Centres

Compared to the same period in the previous year, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in October in the areas of all Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres); the most in Uusimaa (-15%), Häme (-12%), Pirkanmaa (-12%) and Lapland (-11%). The number of unemployed jobseekers decreased the least in South Ostrobothnia (-3%) and Satakunta (-3%). The number of unemployed jobseekers fell the most in Åland, by 22%. Compared with September, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in the areas of five ELY Centres; the most in Uusimaa (-2%), Southwest Finland (-1%), Pirkanmaa (-1%) and Central Finland (-1%). In Åland, the number of unemployed jobseekers fell by 1% from September. From September, the number of unemployed jobseekers increased the most in Kainuu (5%), South Ostrobothnia (3%), Southeast Finland (3%) and North Savo (3%).
