Unemployment decreased in the areas of eleven ELY Centres

Compared to the same period in the previous year, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in December in the areas of eleven Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres); the most in Pirkanmaa (-9%), Lapland (-9%), Häme (-8%), Kainuu (-8%) and Uusimaa (-7%). The number of unemployed jobseekers increased in North Ostrobothnia (2%) and Ostrobothnia (1%). The number of unemployed jobseekers fell the most in Åland, by 19%. Compared to November, the number of unemployed jobseekers increased in the areas of all ELY Centres; the most in South Ostrobothnia (24%), Ostrobothnia (17%), North Ostrobothnia (15%), Central Finland (15%) and Satakunta (15%). In Åland, the number of unemployed jobseekers increased by 12% from November.
