Decrease in long-term unemployment

At the end of January, the number of long-term unemployed who had been unemployed without interruption for more than a year amounted to 85,900, down 20,100 on the previous year. Of the long-term unemployed, 52,200 were men and 33,600 were women. The number of men decreased by 11,300 (-18%) from the previous year and the number of women by 8,800 (-21%). Long-term unemployed who had been unemployed without interruption for more than two years numbered 50,400, which is 1,200 less than a year ago.
