Unemployment decreased in the areas of three ELY Centres

Compared to the same period in the previous year, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in April in the areas of three Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres); in Häme (-4%), Lapland (-2%) and Kainuu (-2%). The number of unemployed jobseekers grew the most in North Ostrobothnia (13%), Ostrobothnia (7%), North Savo (6%), Pirkanmaa (5%) and Central Finland (5%). The number of unemployed jobseekers fell the most in Åland, by 6%. Compared with March, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased in the areas of all Employment and Economic Development Centres except Lapland; the most in South Ostrobothnia (-6%), Southwest Finland (-6%), Satakunta (-6%) and South Savo (-6%). In Åland, the number of unemployed jobseekers decreased by -7% from March.
