Decrease in long-term unemployment

At the end of April, the number of long-term unemployed who had been unemployed without interruption for more than a year amounted to 84,700, down 12,300 on the previous year. Of the long-term unemployed, 51,600 were men and 33,000 were women. The number of men decreased by 6,700 (-12%) from the previous year and the number of women by 5,600 (-14%). Long-term unemployed who had been unemployed without interruption for more than two years numbered 49,300, which is 4,300 less than a year ago.
