The total number of jobseekers decreased

At the end of July, the number of jobseekers registered at the Employment and Economic Development Offices and municipalities participating in the local government pilots on employment totalled 480,700, down 31,900 on the previous year. Of the jobseekers, 242,300 were men and 238,500 were women. Compared to the situation a year ago, the number of men decreased by 10,000 and the number of women by 21,900. Of the jobseekers, 249,800, or 10,500 more than a year earlier, were customers of municipalities participating in the local government pilots on employment.

Of the jobseekers, 119,500 were employed: 60,700 of them were in full-time work, 39,600 were in part-time work and 19,200 were employed through the services organised by the employment and economic development administration and local government pilots on employment. The number of jobseekers outside the labour force was 77,800, of whom 21,700 were in services promoting employment and 42,600 in training. Of the jobseekers, 278,700 were unemployed jobseekers, which is 6,500 more than the year before. In July, 18,400 of unemployed jobseekers were fully laid off, which is 2,600 more than in June. The number of people fully laid off increased by 3,800 from July a year earlier. Furthermore, jobseekers on a reduced working week numbered 4,700, representing a decrease of 600 from the year before.
