Unemployment decreased in the areas of five ELY Centres

Compared to the same period in the previous year, the number of unemployed jobseekers fell by in the areas of five Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres): in Häme (-4%), Lapland (-4%), Kainuu (-2%), Southwest Finland (-2%) and South Ostrobothnia (-1 %). The number of unemployed jobseekers grew the most in North Ostrobothnia (8%), Ostrobothnia (7%), Pirkanmaa (7%), North Karelia (4%) and Central Finland (4%). In Åland, the number of unemployed jobseekers did not change. Compared with June, the number of unemployed jobseekers increased in the areas of all ELY Centres; the most in Ostrobothnia (12%), North Karelia (9%), South Ostrobothnia (7%), Southwest Finland (6%), South Savo (6%), Kainuu (6%) and Southeast Finland (6%). In Åland, the number of unemployed jobseekers increased by 3% from June.
