At the end of October, the number of persons claiming pay subsidies, in placements in central government jobs or receiving start-up grants totalled 35,500, which is 800 more than the year before. Of those in placement, 1% were in central government jobs, 24% in municipalities and 75% in the private sector. Since October last year, the number of placements had increased by 7% in the private sector, but decreased by 45% in central government jobs and by 8% in municipalities. Of those in placements, 54% were men. Placements for men increased by 700, and those for women by 100 from the previous year.
